The night
- Welcome and topicsThe title slide, then the topics board shows the night's rounds and what each is worth.
- Teams joinThe host shows the QR code. Teams scan it, give a team name and pick their two Joker rounds.
- Rounds of tenTen questions a round. Teams write their answers on paper (or type them on a special quiz night) and hand them in.
- A Cold Case clue after every roundA fresh clue to the puzzle - the sooner a team solves it, the more it scores.
- Answers and markingThe host reads the answers while a marker taps what each team got right. Standings can go up on the screen at any time.
- The StreakA subject, a long list of answers, and your run of right answers from the top.
- Winners and the leagueThe host ends the quiz, results are saved and the scores join the national league.
How the scoring works
| What | How it scores |
|---|---|
| A round | 1 point for each right answer (the host can change a round's points). |
| Jokers | Each team picks two rounds that score double. |
| The Streak | 1 point for each answer right in a row from the top, up to 10. The first wrong one ends it. |
| The Cold Case | Solved after Round 1 → 10 points; then 9, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. Scored once per team; not doubled by a Joker. |
| Ties | Teams with the same total share a place. |
Special quiz nights
On a special quiz teams type their answers on their phones. Rounds open and close by themselves, typed answers are marked automatically (allowing for spelling) and the host only reviews the close calls. See the fair-play rules for teams.
The national league
Every night's scores are added up across every venue, by team name, through the season. Read how the league works.
